What is Temp Music?

Temp music is short for temporary music and is used during the development of products or during developing pilot shows / films. Temp music can be a good way of avoiding full licensing of a track until it becomes necessary i.e. when the product / film goes into circulation.

Many multimedia producers use our free downloadable previews as temp tracks in order to get a feel for the finished product or to synchronise the picture to the music. Upon requiring a full version of the track they come back to us for the fully licensed version.

Filmmakers sometimes use inexpensive royalty free music to give the commissioned composer or musical director an idea of the feel of the scene and how it all fits together. In some cases, the temp music works so well that it ends up remaining in the finished film.
