Opening CeremonyAt 20:30, 26th May 2008 the Composer Directory officially went live and opened its virtual doors.

The Composer directory is a fresh approach to the conventional style of an online directory. You will not find huge lists of composers in alphabetical order. The Composer Directory, hosted on Media Music Now is concise and limited in numbers. Currently we have 42 registered members, 27 already on the site, and I see no reason to over crowd the listing. The directory is a good mix of different types of composers and producers ranging from hip hop to classical to orchestral. We will only source new members if we experience a shortage in a particular genre or skill.

We aim to make our money by adding a modest project management fee to each project. For this, we will add maximum value by helping every step of the way from initial enquiries to creating a brief, through to the production schedule, dealing with payment through our ecommerce system and delivering master recordings with the necessary licensing.

For the client, we will be a secure, professional and reliable way to source top class composers and producers. For the composer, the directory will be quite exclusive due to the limited number of members and intends to provide a steady flow of enquires and commissions.

As an addition to our current business model of high quality royalty free music, voice over and audio editing service, the custom music element to Media Music Now adds an exciting new dimension and endless possibilities for the future.

*** For Immediate Release ***

MANCHESTER, UK, 13th May 2008

Media Music Now is about to launch a new service aimed at TV, Film and Digital Media professionals. The new service, known as ‘The Composer Directory’, is a select group of trusted music composers and producers available to be commissioned for custom music projects. The online service is set to open its virtual doors on 26th May 2008 and was inspired by the news of BBC departments heading to Media City, Salford Quays.

With the news of many BBC departments heading for Manchester, Lee Pritchard, a local entrepreneur and founder of Media Music Now, decided that it was the right time to integrate a Composer Directory into their already established music services business.

The directory is purposely designed to comprise of a select number of trusted composers. To maintain the quality and service, all composers are auditioned before inclusion and production projects will be managed by Media Music Now.

“Although the Composer Directory service will be available globally via the web, having a physical base in the city of Manchester makes the prospect of networking exciting, especially with Manchester set to become the home of the BBC in the North. Although still being built, Media City promises to be an excellent venue for media companies and I plan on Media Music Now having a strong presence at Media City.” explains Lee Pritchard.

In a digital online world where there is an abundance of fragmented choice, ‘The Composer Directory’ promises to offer a refined selection of composers & music producers in a variety of genres with a focus on quality & service. Already trading online since 2005, Media Music Now offers high quality Royalty Free Music, Audio Editing Services, a Directory of Voice-over artists and coming soon, ‘The Composer Directory’.

Companies interested in chatting about any aspect of the imminent directory are encouraged to contact Lee Pritchard through the Media Music Now website www.mediamusicnow.co.uk

At this time, there are a few composer places left, for details go to www.mediamusicnow.co.uk and navigate to the Composer Directory.

I hope you enjoyed your Easter break. Easter Eggs

Ok, we ate some chocolate eggs, not many though :) It was just not an option for us here at Media Music Now. We have been far too busy working on adding new music to our catalogue and have started work on the new Composer Directory that is due to go live in Apr/May 08.

My colleague Adam, has been adding new music including a selection of Traditional Irish Folk music created using real instruments, very authentic indeed. Tracks include Danny Boy, Greensleeves, Scarborough Fair, Amazing Grace, Whiskey in the Jar and many more. Click here to listen >

Also, due to public demand, we have started to build a Classical music section to include many of the well known Classic pieces. Currently, there are about 100 tracks, however, we still have about 400 more to add so if it is not there we may have it, so feel free to ask.

Click here for the Classical section OR Click here to contact us

If you, like myself, are a rock fan we have just welcomed on board Michael Bozzo who seems to be a very accomplished rocker! Check him out here >

To keep track of our latest additions we always have a list of the latest 100 at http://mediamusicnow.co.uk/music/Latest-Additions/

Enjoy your week, and feel free to contact me if you need any help with our services. And remember, we don’t just do music. We provide voice-overs, on-hold and affordable audio editing services.

Best Wishes

Lee Pritchard

It has all been happening! In the space of a week we have been kicked out of the Google index, put back into the index and we still don’t know why! We have added two new categories of great new music, added a Glossary of music production terms and have started a Media Voices section on the site.

The media voices section is designed to offer our customers and visitors access to voice talent that can record and deliver professional voice-overs for use in a range of new media applications and the conventional ones too.

The new music sections are: -

Rock / Folk Rock
We created the folk rock section in response to a fantastic music submission by Ian Plunkett and Lara Bartocci Plunkett, who go with the slogan ‘independent music for independent minds’. As you will see from their website they are a talented pair and you can support them by purchasing their albums for personal listening.

Their beliefs greatly appeal to my own philosophy. All the best to them and we hope we can help them along the journey by selling many royalty free licenses of their music . The underscore versions of their album are ideal for media use and a stroke of genius on their part, I wish all bands were this flexible.

‘Our aim is to be free of the mechanisms and ties of the big wheel that is known as…..’ the music business’. Our only interest is the art of song writing and making music. We only wish to move you. We are grateful to all the people who take the time to listen to…. and appreciate what we do. We want to carry this on independently and stay out of that big wheel ‘.

Ambient / Chillout
This new section consists entirely of the amazing music of young talented 16-year-old Polish producer, Tomasz Los who goes by the name of Synthetic Substance.

Tomasz’s music has a quality often not achieved by people twice his age, I am sure he will go along way and become hugely successful - his talent can get even better with time.

His music has a visual quality and brilliant production that makes it ideal for use in media productions and films. Equally the contemporary nature of his music, with its relaxing down tempo grooves make it ideal for chilling out to. A must for anyone’s ipod!

Tomasz’s music can be purchased on our royalty free music license here for inclusion with media productions / projects.

You can also support Tomasz by purchasing his albums for personal listening through his MySpace profile .

We are back! Yes Adam and myself have been in hiding for most of this week! We have reformatted all of our music previews and made a new DVD version that can be posted to companies interested in using our royalty free music.

We had some great feedback from existing customers and visitors and found that our sonic watermark really annoyed and distracted our friends.

It is a delicate balancing act; we need to protect our composers’ music against theft and unauthorised use whilst making music previews accessible to potential users. Initially we plastered all of our music with a voiceover every 6 seconds that was a little loud in places to say the least. We have now addressed this situation and made all preview voiceovers 15 seconds apart and have made a conscious effort to blend them with the music.

We hope our new, more relaxed media music previews are better to listen to and less fatiguing to the ear. As always, we are happy to hear your thoughts.
